Recently last month, I apologize for lack of updates mainly due to errors in my Wordpress. These few days, since I’m not working due to bad weather condition, therefore I spend some time trying to fix my problems. Earlier I already fix my first problem which is Search issue and I already integrate Google Custom Search into my site, nicely blend with the theme.

Today, I try to manual upgrade my wordpress to version 2.3.3 because Fantastisco latest available version to upgrade also version 2.3.2 only. Anyway, more problems and headache I’m facing. I accidentally deleted “wp-config.php” file and I lost the password for my DB username because my site was installed using Fantastisco long time ago and the password for the DB username was auto-generated with random characters and numbers such as “a1u4trxy” (something like that).

My first headache when I tried to run upgrade command (/wp-admin/upgrade.php) I’m getting database connection error. Because I’m lazy to download my last previous full backup for my Wordpress which has about more than 40MB size, I create a new DB user and add to my Wordpress database table.

Thinking I can upgrade my Wordpress without any problem, but I’m wrong. I’m getting blank screen after the upgrade. I tried to access to my site and admin also give me blank page. I don’t know what the actual cause that make my site goes blank. Anyway, this time I downloaded my old full Wordpress backup which is version 2.2 and re-upload all to my site.

When my site goes back to version 2.2, to my horror, I notice all my categories are emtpty!  I’m speechless and don’t know what to do. But the rest of my problem such as Feed, Rich Text Editor or blank screen problem in my previous post is fixed. I’m thinking maybe my bad luck, since I’m able to recover my site back, I have to manually add back all my categories. But when I tried to add back my 1st category, this is what I get:-

ARGHHHHhhhHHhhh!! What the heck? I tried to read for some information from Wordpress Support site and doesn’t give me good help. Earlier in the midst of upgrading, my site showing unable to upgrade automatically status in Fantastisco but this time it shows that my site is version 2.2.

Thinking that I’m unable to anything else to fix the categories issue, I use Fantastisco to upgrade my site. My site currently is upgraded to version 2.3.2 only. The categories is back to normal. Some of my newer plugins I downloaded and used is not yet upload back yet. However, I’m getting some fatal error for some new plugins which suppose to work earlier before upgrade.

I’m really headache and frustrated. Hopefully I can fix everything back to normal. Wait for more updates from me.
