Yesterday, I posted that Nuffnang Malaysia’s site is down due to server down for emergency maintenance and now today Timothy has posted at Nuffnang blog explain the situation. Bravo Boss Timothy, you manage to handle the situation nicely.

Below is an excerpt from Timothy explain about their emergency procedures ready in the case in which unforeseen circumstances like this may occur.

They comprise of two teams:

1) A technical response team to get the problem fixed
2) A communication response team to get the word out to our bloggers and keep the a channel of communication open.

If you notice your Nuffnang ads not showing or you are not looking at the normal Nuffnang website, don’t be afraid, they are having emergency maintenance for their server.

Dear Nuffnangers,

At about 12.00PM today on the 19th of February 2008, the hard disk for one of our servers crashed resulting in server downtime and some loss of data.
The good news is that our team has taken necessary precautions for uncertainties like this and have backed up whatever data we had.
We are in the midst of restoring our servers and getting them up and running again so please bear with us for these few hours where our site will be down.

It’s hard to place an exact timeline on when everything will be back to normal again but if everything goes as planned, everything should be up and running by 6.00PM today.

Until then, your blog will load just fine as normal but with all the Nuffnang ad units minimized or hidden.

This also mark my highest page views for the day compared to the rest of the days in the week! My blog is not any high traffic blog that can have page views or visitors over 1k per day. However, I saw that Nuffnang recorded highest page view was 643 on 11th November.

Bloggers Buff 2007 was mooted to be a stepping stone to get Malaysian bloggers from various genres together in a day to open up their minds towards different aspects of blogging and to comment on issues that affect bloggers in the country.

Where :Dewan Dato’ Haji Sidek, Jalan Kg Attap, K.Lumpur
Who : This workshop is opened for about 50-60 Malaysian bloggers of all genres and race.
How much : We’re making this as low cost as possible by absorbing most of the costs. Tentatively we’ve decided on a RM5 fee per person that can be paid on the day of the event. Lunch and tea breaks are served.
