When Mac just release MacBook Air, many users are dying to get one for themselves. But do they have any idea that MacBook Air can be hacked in just 2 minutes ? LOL :P PWNED, I also don’t know until I read about this article at engadget.com.

Here’s a quick summary for the article I read, it seems that this year PWN 2 OWN hacking competition at CanSecWest was over on the 2nd day it started. Famed hacker Charlie Miller showed that MacBook Air can be hacked in just 2 minutes.

How?

1. He visited a website that contains the exploit code (presumably via a crossover cable connected to a nearby MacBook Pro).
2. Then, the next step he manage to seized control of the MacBook Air.

Note: The hacking competition rules is the contestant can only use software that came pre-loaded in the OS.

Charlie Miller walk away with $10,000 and a new laptop while he was forced to sign nondisclosure agreement that’ll keep him quiet about the “leak” until the organizer inform Apple.

So, what is the cause for the MacBook Air easily hacked ? The answer is … Safari browser. Don’t ask me anything about the codes or how Safari can be easily hacked. If you’re a MacBook Air user, go and Google yourself and find more solutions. :D
