fish5 Fishing Hustle
* Don’t be fooled by the picture, those are not our fishes. It belongs to other uncle who walk along the seashore and threw a net to catch fishes swimming nearby the surface (it’s 1 of the method to fish).

Few days ago, on Wednesday, after my interview at Bkt Minyak (which took me 15 minutes from my house to Bkt Minyak, inspired by Jennifer) I went to Penang to find Desmond where we already planned for fishing activity that day. At first I misunderstand the time we agreed, I thought they planned to fish at 3 am++ at midnite but Desmond decided the time was 3 pm++ in the afternoon!! Luckily, around 1 pm++ in the afternoon that day, Desmond called me up. Below are our conversations :-

Desmond: Hey Kah Peng, where are you now ? Are you coming over ?

Me: What ? I’m at home. What coming ? *blur, wonderin what happen*

Desmond: Huh ? What at home !? *he become blur also* I thought we agreed the time and you promised to join us fishing today.

Me: Yeah, today right. But why you ask me to come over now ? I thought you asked me to come over 1 something tonight because you wanted to discuss something about your blog ? *2x blur*

Desmond: OMG!@#$%^ Since when I said tonight ? I mean AFTERNOON la !!! Aiyo…

Me: AFTERNOON !? Holy-shit!! I thought you said you wanna fishing around 3 am++ ? Then you asked me to come over 1 am++ ? Die la, I heard you wrongly…. Because I thought some people fishing at night 1 ma… (paiseh, hahaha, such a silly misunderstanding)

Desmond: AT NIGHT ur head la…At night who want to go fishing, go fish water ghost izzit ?

Me: Then how arh ?

Desmond: How about you come over now ?

Me: Cannot le, later at 4pm I got an interview at Bukit Minyak there. Hmm…how about after my interview I go and find u ?

Desmond: Haiyo…no choice le like dat, then when you come over, gimme a call..

P/S: (the conversatio above been edited a bit, but the main conversation point is still there)

Hahaha… luckily Desmond called me up otherwise I’ll end up go and find him at midnite to go fishing… :P Okay, actually the term where I joined him fishing is actually I just go there and see they fishing and not I, myself go and fishing together with them, hehe…because I dunno how and it’s not my hobby okay ? I just feel like to watch people fishing and I never had any friends’s hobby was fishing nor experience before watching people fishing, this is my FIRST time :P

*The view of fishing spot including our cars, the guy behind red Myvi is Desmond’s colleague (Chien or Chen, sorry dunno how to spell + kinda forget his name :P)

fishingspot Fishing Hustle

*Simple illustration to show you the fishing spot full of fishes crabs perhaps! :P Just follow the highway to Kawasan Perindustrian Bayan Lepas and keep to your left. When you saw Motorola factory on your right, slow down and notice there’s 1 pink TNB building on your eft. Turn to your left and follow the sand/bumpy road into the jungle fishing spot :P

Although my camera comes with my handphone is sucky, but since I got nothing to do so I take some shots to share the experience and the view there. When I found the place where Desmond describe to me, I reached the place almost 5pm. Desmond and his colleague, (Chien or Chen, sorry dunno how to spell + kinda forget his name :P), just reached there as well. There’s 1 more guy coming over,Ah Chao, Desmond’s old skool mate but he’ll be late because he need to finish his work before coming over from Gurney Plaza.

Desmond explained that they reach late as well because they went to Tesco and bought something which are their “baits”. They bought cockles (kerang in Malay) and some small Sardine fishes (with 2-3 ikan bilis inside the same plastic bag). Below is the picture of Desmond peeling the cockles from the the shells (it’s kinda weird to keep on repeating the word cockles, very awkward, macam cock-less Haha… :P Maybe I should stick back to the word “kerang” ?

*Desmond using plastic bags to prevent using hand to peel the cockles from the shells. It’s smelly if you use your hand directly okay ? :P

Later on, while Desmond and his friend enjoy fishing, I noticed there’s 1 guy riding his scooter approaching near our spot. He parked his scooter quite a distance from our cars. I don’t really care much at first because he is just a stranger. After a while, I turned my head back and noticed that guy, in his thirties, went down into the sea, don’t worry, he’s not going to drown himself. But he is catching fish using other method. I don’t know how to explain but I’ll try my best to explain. First of all, I don’t know what the name for method’s of catching fish. The guy will walk into the sea shore, quite shallow, the deepest I’ve seen he went down was 1/2 of his body, around his waist level. He will throw a piece of net into the water’s surface about 1-2 metres within his range. Then, he’ll pull back the net slowly and look into the net whether there’s any fishes or crabs trapped inside the net. Slowly and slowly, that guy walked and walked far from us. Although when the guy is near us, I couldn’t take any pictures of him because it’ll be blur . My handphone’s camera don’t have good megapixels and if zoom further, you’ll see nothing except just blur images.

You can see the stranger’s catches in the picture at the most top of this post. I take a peep into his container (made from maybe 5 litre paint’s container). There’s are about 5-6 smal fishes(dunno wat fish type) and one small crab inside his container. Hehe…Jeng~ Jeng~ Jeng~ to those who never saw how the crab seller tied up the crab, take a look at the pictures below.

fish3 Fishing Hustle
*During the process to tie up the small crab, at first the crab wanted to run away when he take out from the container. Hehe..but end up getting caught back. *guess who’s car behind this picture :P*

It’s nice to enjoy the process to tie up a crab. You should experience it yourself. Maybe if you’re going to tie it up urself is more FUN! as long as you don’t end up ur fingers bitten by the crab :P

fish4 Fishing Hustle
*After the crab being tied up, he hang the crab temporary while he packing up his fishes into a plastic bag.

The guy is satisfied with the catch of the day, packed up and went back :P Left us, waiting there for fishes to bite out baits but end up our bait eaten by crabs (suspect by Desmond’s colleague coz everytime we take a look, the bait’s is gone) Okay, I’m getting lazy already, haha, try to end this post A.S.A.P because I got something to do later and it’s getting late early in the morning. Ah Chao reached the place quite late around 7pm++. Follow by Desmond’s gf, Doreen and her younger brother drop by and visit us. The weather is n’t that nice. It’s getting darker and we saw dark clouds approaching us from the opposite site (Prai or Butterworth maybe). The experience is GREAT! You really should try it sometime. Other than enjoying sunset views, this is something you should not missed!!

When I talked about dark clouds approaching us, this reminds me of the scene from Kung Fu Hustle movie, where the  dark clouds approaching the the group of Axe Gang are walking towards to the small village. Take a look at the picture below:-

kungfuhustlecloud Fishing Hustle

*I have to take this screenshots myself from the DVD. I failed to find any images from Google where I just only want this scene.

Again, my handphone is too lousy, I can’t take the picture of the dark clouds approaching us. What a waste, haih…but you can imagine as if from the scene in Kung Fu Hustle, just the differet is the clouds is moving too fast inside Kung Fu Hustle but in real life what we saw, the clouds moving slowly but the same concept there.

The experience you get when the dark clouds started moving near you. First of all, you’ll feel changes in the wind. Winds started to blow more stronger which means those skinny fella can feel they’re going to fly away :P Secondly,  you’ll feel the waves of the current in the water is more rough, as if there’s going to be Tsunami coming to hit Penang. (I finally understand why last time some people reported didn’t run away when Tsuami hit Penang few years back, because the scenery and the feelings are awesome. You won’t know there’s Tsunami approaching unless when you see the waves is getting higher and nearer to you!!)

At last, you’ll feel cold water drops on your body. Which means it’s going to rain heavily!!! We all rushing to pack our stuffs and pity Ah Chao couldn’t enjoy fishing because he not even sit down for 15 minutes or I should say he don’t have the time to throw his bait into the water at all!! :P We left the place about 7.30pm++ Desmond and me went to Queensbay Mall, I waited inside car for him to buy movie tickets, Bridge to Terabithia at 9.10pm. Later, we had our dinner together nearby (i dunno the place name :P). We had Hakka mee for our dinner. Very funny and silly me because when I ordered my meal, I asked if there’s Maggie mee ? The guy answered that here’s none, so I’ll just stick to mee. Later on, Desmond said I’m crazy to ask that, how can you come to a Hakka Mee’s shop and don’t eat the Hakka’s Mee but you asked for noodles ? Haha… :P Paiseh…paiseh…

After our dinner, I planted bomb at Jennifer‘s house before we left to watch movie. I think she should know which Hakka Mee shop as it’s nearby her house. After movie, we went to Kayu Nasi Kandar for yum char before went back home. By the time I finish this post, my elder brother just went back home, brought me 2 sausages :P Midnite supper….muahaha. Although the sausages is not 8″ LONG, THICK, JUICY with CHEESE like what Jennifer saw in menu at Roxbury Food House, but what I’m eating now is still 5″ LONG, THICK but no CHEESE :P Okay, that’s all and I go and back doing Java programming stuff.
